Multi-Angular Snowflake Camera (MASC)

The Multi-Angular Snowflake Camera (MASC) is a device which allows taking pictures of a snowflake or a group of them at very high resolution (between 9 and 37 um), from 3 different angles and also measuring their fall speed by using near-infrared motion detectors. With the high resolution and stereographic observation it is possible to infer the parameter of the snowflakes such as the dimensions, type and level of aggregation of the snow/ice particles during a given snowfall event.
